(training to become HANA Consultant)

Role summary: Due to expanding success Centiq need to expand the team that installs, configure and maintains HANA systems for large and medium sized enterprise customers. We are looking for a proven linux expert keen to extend their expertise to include HANA.

Key areas of capability

  • Attending at customer sites in pre-sales technical advisor and/or technical delivery consultant roles, either alone or in a team.

  • Capable of working on the leading edge technology (based on core areas of expertise, eg: Linux) testing and implementing, whilst creating customer confidence and commitment.

  • Creates customer facing and internal documentation including design documents , change requests and statements of work or contribution to proposal documentation.

  • Completes customer equipment ‘builds’ from the company warehouse including necessary updates and configuration.

  • Completes customer installations at customer sites Provides customer support in areas of technical expertise via phone/email and face-to-face.

  • Engages with customers to provide troubleshooting, diagnosis and resolution of technical issues via email, phone and remote connection to devices.

  • Establishes and develops good working relationships with external customers and other professionals.

  • Mentioning and assisting colleagues with technical guidance and/or expertise

Other duties

  • Maintains personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job in terms of skills and understanding.

  • Gain knowledge of HANA installation configuration and support through internal training external training as well as self driven desire to learn.

  • Must be willing to work towards certifications. Performs light lifting (~10kg).

  • Willing to work out of hours periodically (client driven). Happy to do early starts and late finishes when client needs demand.

  • Undertakes such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job.

Technical requirements

Required

  • Demonstrable experience with Linux OS in an enterprise server environment using SUSE Linux Enterprise Server.

  • VMWare, Networking and Storage to an advanced level, operating in major enterprise projects.

Desirable

  • Experience with other Linux derivatives (Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu, etc).

  • Experience installing SAP HANA and/or SAP BWA or other SAP software.

  • Systems administration experience including user management and networking.

  • IBM AIX and related Power, Systems p, x servers, as well as BladeCentre blades based on Power Architecture technology.

  • Knowledge of clustering and High Availability configurations.

  • Knowledge of Change Management processes and IT governance frameworks in large enterprises, e.g. ITIL.

  • Knowledge of how projects are implemented in large enterprises. Technical qualifications.

Education
Degree level or higher in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
